• An accurate estimate will allways by definition be an estimate as it sometimes involve a lot of calculations, the labor cost rate and the execution time are different for different operations. For this reasons, we don't make so called "instant-estimates" over the phone. If somebody pretend that he/she can make such thing in an accurate manner, well ... this is just wrong.

• One more thing: we prefer to direct your estimate request to the right person, not to somebody who is not qualified.

Notes & Assumptions
  • Single layer of paper to strip.
  • No significant damage to walls/plaster or woodwork.
  • Two coats of emulsion where painting. •Painting - 2.5lts covers 32 sq mts (typical Dulux) - also applies to gloss on woodwork.
  • Calculated paint and wallpaer quantities are rounded up to the next whole number.
  • Papering figures ignore doors and windows - assumes papering around takes at least as long as if they wern't there!
  • Wall & ceiling paper roll standard 10m x 52cm. Assumes one door in room and no windows.
  • THIS CALCULATOR EXCLUDES PREPARATION TIME - as a rule of thumb this the same amount of time again when you are painting unless the walls are in good condition.
  
Instructions
  • Yellow cells are for input - variables that you will need to decide on (e.g. room dimensions).
  • All dimensions are in meters. To convert feet to meters multiply x 0.305.
  • If in your project you have rooms with mixed finishes, use the estimates for painting and papering - with the dimensions for painted walls, respectively wallpapered.
  • Number of working people does not affect the cost - only the turnaround time.
  • Remember to add time for obtaining materials if you are doing this. Usually, we prefer to obtain the materials ourselves, so we can guarantee the quality.
